The day I ate my way through my pantry – #lazygirlsguidetofitness




The day I threw out all the chocolate, chips and biscuits out of my pantry….OK…hold up…WAIT A SECOND HERE! There are starving children in the world, as if I threw it all out. Let me start this again…

The day I ate my way through my pantry of junk food was the day of a new life, as cliche’ and ridiculous as this sounds, I am embarrassed to say I DID change my life for the better, because no matter how I looked on the outside, I was always sick and really unhealthy on the inside.

It takes around 21 days to break a habit, and 21 days to start a new habit so after all the entries in the #lazygirlsguidetofitness that I’ve compiled I realised there was a key one missing from my point of view – the pantry! Basically…the pantry was my “new” habit that I had to get in touch with.

I contemplated adding in a photo of my actual pantry but it’s so messy, and I feel too lazy to even attempt starting to clean it so here’s yet another series of me in work out gear. (Wearing Lorna Jane & Cotton On)

I have an amazing set of regular every day jars that I have filled with things that I use almost every day so I am starting with these…just have your essentials in the pantry to get started because once you have those, it becomes very easy to make food that’s good for you.

  • Pitted Dates
  • Chia Seeds
  • Coconut Flour
  • Almond Meal
  • Shredded Coconut
  • Coconut Sugar/Stevia
  • Peanuts/Cashews/Almonds (Unsalted)
  • Cacao Powder
  • A mix of seeds which may include pumpkin, linseed or sesame’s (or all)
  • Coconut oil

These are all really essential for about 90% of the recipes I make, and possibly something not a lot of people realise can work well together. Stock up and I’ll start throwing some recipes around over Christmas 🙂 and also give you the low down on fridge essentials! Go forth and get a protein ball into ya 😛
