10 bad-ass things

Leather seems to give any outfit a rock edge, seeing as this Blushed dress is so stunning by itself, it almost feels like sacrilege to throw a leather jacket and some combat boots on, but when you can wear a dress more than one way, then it’s worth purchasing and keeping in your wardrobe for a plethora of occasions. I thought this was a great time to give you some insight into my edgy side, I always find that when a blogger really opens up in their writing on a personal level, that it’s more often that I’ll read their post right to the end…so hopefully I can do myself some justice here with 10 things you didn’t know about me (with an emphasis on this edgy side of my personality, which to be honest is all just about looks, I am barely a bad-ass haha).

The emergence of Nike as a streetwear brand

Processed with VSCOcam with c1 preset

Those that know me, understand my tomboy tendencies, a lifetime of growing up in a small country town it was a necessity for me to work on my birds nest hair and never brush it – adding a cap made it all better, wear 4 day old t-shirts with stains, and to of course make sure I was fully prepared to race any boy that dared me with bangin’ kicks on my feet! It was all about the image after all and as a girl that dressed like a boy…the more boyish, the better! While friends wore Apple Pie lace ups and sandals with socks, here I was trying to ruin my sneakers by scuffing them across the bitumen so I could get the new season. As luck would have it though, I grew up and my outfits matured…however the tomboy style seemed to follow me through, now I am still found wearing ripped jeans, a simple white tee and of course, comfortable sneaks on those casual fridays! But it’s just that much more sophisticated and socially acceptable. Continue Reading

Spring hair – yeah yeah!!

I feel a bit like I am undercover in these fresh new 501 Hair Lounge locks, simply put, nobody recognises me at all! I feel like I have to explain WHO I am before people realise it’s me, I am getting used to it but I think considering I have decided these extensions are so totally radness that I am keeping them for as long as 501 will have me, and I’ll be recognised as a long haired blonde again not a short haired blonde!!! Swap don’t Stop: The Lazy Girl’s Guide to Fitness

The amazing SWAP IT DON’T STOP IT campaign that ran through all media avenues a few years ago really sent out a great message, and it was one that stuck with me to use, years later! I don’t want to give up chocolate, that is my happy food, and who am I to deny my body of these…cravings?! I kept telling myself, if I crave it, my body needs it. Sort of true yes, but can I find an alternative instead? To be honest, the extra fat around my butt, shortness of breath and unhealthiness which caused so many problems and unnecessary doctor appointments and tests was a big enough reason to kick my ass a little. (I repeat, a little!) Continue Reading

Superfoods and seeds: The Lazy Girls Guide to Fitness

Hmm…superfoods, how did we only start hearing about them in the last couple of years? I, of course thought it was a load of crap until I started actually eating certain superfoods more and more. Seeds especially because, well, I love seeds! (Maybe I was a Macaw in a previous life – I know people would say I am as loud as one!!) Continue Reading

The Lazy Girls Guide to Fitness!

Hands up who LOVES exercise!!!!! I say that with the least amount of enthusiasm in my voice because, I am NOT that girl who loves to just smash out 200 burpees at the gym, then lift some god awful weights. No, absolutely not! Put your damn flexy muscles away please!!! I am more of a couch potato, and with that comes chocolate, popcorn and cups of tea. Wallowing in my pity though throughout all of 2013 didn’t do me any favours  as I was stuck in that “can’t be bothered” routine and turned down plenty of invitations out because well…the weather was bad. Naturally Curly; perfecting your curls the natural way

My curly tendrils up top had me so self conscious that if I let my hair dry naturally it was always amongst copious amounts of product to make it look like I had “big girl curls”. I never let my hair dry naturally WITHOUT product in my hair, but after recent realisation that 90% of the products I was using was full of not only chemicals but they were all tested on animals, I grabbed all of my products and I threw them out. Younique 3D Fiber Lashes!

So many 3d fibre lashes are around at the moment, and being a cruelty free shopper I felt like I was missing out, I was yet to find a fibre lash that was going to grant me the “Not tested on animals” guarantee. Until my friend Beth introduced me to Younique! Continue Reading

Peaches and Clean

I have been involved in the MANY 6160 retail area for a few weeks now and have been discovering so many amazing shops because of it. One in particular Peaches n Clean, a 100% natural product for your body. Katrina (maker/owner) started the brand because she couldn’t find anything that would work for her, having eczema – every product she tried, flared it up! Continue Reading

Hello Hair!

It’s winter…we all feel a bit blah, it’s time for some pampering…so I have decided to show you all the great products I have been buying lately in an effort for my own wellness week. It’s all about you…and the environment…

Kicking off my wellness week is a brand that I only just found a few weeks ago on Instagram. All of the blow drying and straightening I do, not to mention this naturally curly mop, I do try my hardest to keep my hair nourished and moisturised. I was hooked on a brand that I recently found out was testing on animals still so I was at a loss because I really loved how my hair felt after using it. Continue Reading
