How to nail the Sportsluxe Trend!
22 September, 2015
Telstra Perth Fashion Festival is behind us again for another year, and one trend that was…well…”trending” last week on the streets was Sportsluxe…
Something that I guess I know a bit about given I live in fitness gear, but definitely a trend that I haven’t completely mastered outside of the gym (or rushing to get a coffee after a class).
I was kindly dressed by Nat from Wild Horses (who showcased in WA Designer Runway on the weekend) in her new pieces, this particular 2 piece can be worn separately but we thought wearing it together would make for a different take.
I also had the opportunity to work with Melissa Shoes, and these cute sneakers (which smell like 1986 – my little ponies and showbags) seemed like the perfect addition to this sportsluxe look. These babies are super comfortable, and come in pastel colours as well as black – they are really worth getting this summer if you want to nail this trend! Speaking of nailing the trend…in true form to help you guys out, here are some Sportsluxe tips…
Heels vs Sneakers:
The trick is to go the opposite in your footwear, if you are wearing a dress or skirt like above, go for a trainer (simple white always works well), however if you are in tracky dacks, don a heel for a more glam feel!
They are a great addition and scream sportsluxe, the above is made of silk so has a sheen, Wild Horses have a brand new range out that includes a lot of metallic shines.
Keep it simple, stupid!:
There is no need to go all of the active wear in one go, as displayed above, I have used an outfit that I would not wear to the gym! Just add sneakers right?
Textures bring it home, the silky tones of this outfit, against the leather clutch and the plastic airflow shows just seems to flow!
If you want to recreate this look then head to the Wild Horses website here for the outfit and the Melissa Shoes website here for the Love System Sneaker.
Coming up in a few days is my vlog on TPFF…
