Healthy Raw Jaffa PROTEIN Slice

I have never really liked protein supplements, and truth be told I don’t use them for ANYTHING else except for after a workout to help my muscles repair and to get more protein in my body since becoming a vego, but having a shake was just getting so….blegh….

So I decided to add in the protein to a raw treat instead…try it this weekend…

Ingredients:

Protein layer:

  • 5 dates
  • 3 scoops vanilla protein powder (I use the RAW brand)
  • 2 Tbsp Coconut oil
  • 1 Tbsp rice malt syrup
  • 1/4 orange squeezed

Choc Orange layer:

  • 5 dates
  • 1 cup coconut flour
  • 1 Tbsp Coconut oil
  • 1/4 cup Cacao
  • 1 Quarter of an orange squeezed
  • 1 Tbsp rice malt syrup
  1. Squeeze juice from your quarter orange, then grate the rind (keep some aside) from the skin and place these in your blender along with the rest of the ingredients.
  2. Blend until a dough consistency.
  3. Roll into balls then roll into cacao powder and place into fridge for 2 hours.
  4. Glad wrap a dish or tin, then put your protein layer in and pat down – put into freezer.
  5. Repeat the process for the choc orange layer.
  6. Freezer for a good hour, then cut up and drizzle cacao (recipe here) and remainder of orange rind.
